Joseph turned 9 this year...gulp.. and we were so grateful to everyone who sent cards and gifts. We had lots of fun opening presents and cards and just making all those highly anticipated trips to the mailbox the week prior was lots of fun.
I always thought summer time birthday parties would be great but it is hard to get kids together since so many families head to the lake during the summer. We have since learned to keep the group small and the activities big. This year 4 boys plus Dad went to the local water park.
I always hand off the running of Joseph's birthday parties to Jeremy because seems like a Dad job (translation: a job I don't really want to do) but after seeing pictures of Jeremy on the lounge chair while the boys ran around the water park I may need to reconsider the division of birthday party labour.

| Daniel his new neighbourhood buddy got him a super soaker with a backpack refill. Daniels birthday is in a few weeks we picked on up for him too so that their water fights will be a little more evenly matched. Daniel usually ends up pinned against the garage while Joseph soaks him. |
